Process

Provident Planning uses this seven-step approach to financial planning. The process for tax preparation is similar with the exception of Steps 4 & 7. Depending on your situation and available time, I may be able to complete your tax return during our first meeting.

Step 1: Schedule a Meeting

After reviewing the information on this website, contact me to schedule a no-obligation Get Acquainted Meeting. You can ask any additional questions you may have to make sure you’re ready to schedule a meeting. We’ll decide on a date, time, and location that’s convenient for you. I am available to meet at your home, office, or other location that’s best for you at no charge within Lancaster County, PA and western Chester County, PA.

Step 2: Get Acquainted Meeting

This is an opportunity to exchange information about your needs and objectives and to discuss which services are right for you. You will also receive an estimated fee quote. You’ll then have some time to decide if you’d like to work with Provident Planning. If so, you will be provided with a list of additional information needed to begin working on your financial plan. If not, you will owe nothing for the first meeting since it is absolutely free whether you choose to work with me or not.

Step 3: Gathering Data and Initial Preparation

You will be asked to gather financial data and may need to complete a worksheet or questionnaire. This may include the Client Questionnaire and the Risk Tolerance Questionnaire. Once the necessary information is received, I will review your information and begin to develop your financial plan.

Step 4: Interactive Goal Setting Meeting

We’ll schedule a second meeting to discuss the information you have provided. You’ll have another opportunity to clarify your current situation, financial goals, and values.

Step 5: Analysis and Plan Formulation

I’ll analyze all your information and conduct any research required to prepare your financial plan. If I have any further questions, I’ll contact you by phone or email during this step. A final report is produced that includes observations and specific recommendations.

Step 6: Presentation of Your Financial Plan

Your customized financial plan is designed to meet your goals and provide you with a plan of action. During the presentation meeting, we’ll review all aspects of the plan to make sure that you fully understand the recommendations and instructions for implementation.

Step 7: Plan Implementation and Follow Up

Proper implementation of your financial plan is crucial to reaching your financial goals. You can implement your plan on your own, or you can continue to work with Provident Planning to assist in the implementation. Our relationship may continue on an hourly, as-needed basis or on a flat fee basis, depending on your needs and preferences. However, there is no obligation to do either. You call whenever you wish to request my services (for instance, periodic reviews or to adjust for changes in your situation).
