I had articles in four different carnivals this week. Here they are:
- Best of Money Carnival – A Penny Saved Is Nearly Two Pennies Earned
- Carnival of Personal Finance – Tithing in the Bible: Jacob’s Example (Genesis 28:20-22)
- Festival of Frugality – Raising a Cow for Beef: Month 3
- Money Hacks Carnival – How to Find Contentment
Craig at Money Help for Christians discusses why it is important to discuss the practical applications of the Bible’s teachings about money. I’ve spent a good deal of time now just looking at the foundational principles, but I’ve done it for exactly the reason Craig points out. With a strong foundation in the Biblical principles, handling our money in a way that pleases God becomes much more straightforward. Instead of trying to wade through what the right decision is, we’ll look at God’s principles and then do what He desires. Craig’s article is a great read if you ever wonder why Christians should even be discussing practical applications in church. God has a lot of foundational teaching about money in the Bible, but it’s up to us to apply that to our personal situations. That’s why we need resources like Crown Financial Ministries, Money Help for Christians, and even Provident Planning – Christians should be talking about how we can use our money and resources wisely and appropriately. Have a great weekend!
