Glad you liked it, Greg! It's a shame that some have warped the Good News into the gospel of greed. There are many other examples like John the Baptist - people who were following God's will but received no reward as the world measures it. The Martyr's Mirror is full of Christians like that. They would have rather let their ears be burned off than to hear what some teach about the Gospel today.

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Great article, Paul. I like to remind people that John the Baptist was pretty much dead smack in the middle of God's will, fulfilled the plan that God had for his life, was obedient in every aspect of his life, and yet he ate bugs for lunch and only had one set of clothes.

God's Word promises that God will give us what we need and His blessings are good for us. As long as we allow God to define what 'good' is, then we will be blessed by following His financial principles.

Thanks for commenting, Josh! I'm glad you enjoyed the article. I try to keep focused on Christ in my writing, but there's not a Bible verse for every bit of good personal finance advice. So you won't always find articles like this, but I hope that readers will know my intent (whether explicit or not) is that we apply good personal finance advice in a manner that honors God and not ourselves.

I'm looking forward to hearing more from you. And I'm going to check out your game in your link. It looks really interesting! I'm not sure how much my wife will be into it, but I know some people who might like it. I might highlight it in a post after I get a chance to try it out. Thanks again!

Well said Paul. I think you hit the nail on the head in two places (in particular). First, that the Christian life isn't about comfort; Christ made no guarantees for an easy life. Also, that "As Christians, we are rich – but you can’t measure our wealth in dollars."

In the context of personal finance, that's it right there. Looking forward to reading more...
